Booking Info

We offer free snorkel lessons in our on-site heated pool to those of you without a lot of experience or wanting to get acquainted with the equipment before heading out to Julian Rocks. These lessons start 30 minutes prior to the meeting time, please advise us if you would like to book in. PLEASE NOTE ALL CUSTOMERS WITH NO PRIOR SNORKELING EXPERIENCE WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE SNORKEL LESSON PRIOR TO THE TOUR COMMENCING. FAILURE TO ARRIVE 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE TOUR FOR THIS LESSON WILL RESULT IN YOU NOT BEING ABLE TO PARTICIPATE, NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN. ALL SNORKEL TOUR PARTICIPANTS MUST BE ABLE TO SWIM AND MUST BE COMFORTABLE IN THE WATER.

Please bring swimmers and a towel. 

-Please let us know if you have any medical conditions or have had any recent medical procedures that we need to be aware of that can be affected by strenuous physical activity e.g. asthma, heart conditions, lung disorders.

Please note that we have a 48 hour cancellation policy.  This means that if you need to cancel or change a booking for any reason, we need to know 48 hours before the activity is due to commence.  If cancellation or change is made after that time, we charge a 100% cancellation fee.  If this is a problem, please contact us immediately.

*All tours operate on NSW Daylight Savings Time (October to April; we are one hour ahead of Queensland).

If you are travelling from 45 minutes to an hour or more away on the day of the tour we would recommend to call us the day before to check conditions for your tour.

Included:
A snorkel trip to Julian Rocks Marine Reserve includes the boat ride (on which we frequently see dolphins), a snorkel guide to show you around for up to 1 hour, equipment hire (mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuit) and a free snorkel lesson (if required).

Whilst snorkelling you are supervised by qualified dive staff who will ensure you get the most from your trip to Julian Rocks Marine Reserve.

On your return to the dive shop you can have a hot shower before our dive crew help you identify some of the creatures you saw

What to Bring: Swim suit & towel

Snorkel Byron Bay’s Julian Rocks Marine Reserve. Julian Rocks is one of the few dive sites where you can swim with tropical species found on the Great Barrier Reef as well animals from Australia’s deep Southern Ocean. The reserve is home to three different species of sea turtle, an assortment of rays including mantas, hard and soft corals, friendly wobbegong sharks and over four hundred different species of fish. All of this is only a five-minute boat ride from Byron Bay.

All snorkel tour participants must be able to swim and must be comfortable in the water.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Snorkel Tour
– Meet at Byron Bay Dive Centre (BBDC) – Briefing, gear up of equipment, snorkel lesson completed at BBDC – 5-10 minute boat ride to Julian Rocks snorkel site – 1 hour in the water snorkelling – Transported back to BBDC

Departures/Pickups

Check in time’s:  Daily at 7.30am, 9.00am, 10.30am, 12.00pm and 1.30pm*

(Tour times will change to 8am, 11am and 2pm from 29th April 2019)

Return:  Approx. 3 hrs later
